Free Sports Safety Video


The National Center for Sports Safety (NCSS) created a free parent/athlete video to demonstrate preventative measures for parents and athletes to take and ways to be proactive in order to assist all coaches practice sports safety in youth sports.

Reviewed and approved by the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) medical advisory committee, the 16-minute video covers five essential topics that parents and athletes need to be familiar with in the event of an emergency on the field or court. The topics include concussions, pre-participation physicals, cardiac and genetic disorders, heat illnesses and staph (Staphylococcus aureus)/ MRSA infections.

This video will give each parent and athlete the tools to help prevent certain situations and will help them become proactive about sports injuries. Being aware and being prepared can lower the risk of injury!
